14.10.2008 - Starting from 20 October 2008 new rules on VAT payment are introduced – President, Dmitry Medvedev, on the 14th of October 2008 approved amendments to article 174 of the Tax Code of Russia. The rules become effective in respect of the third quarter 2008 and provide that the quarterly amount of VAT is to be paid in three monthly installments – by the end of each of the three months following the reported quarter. For example, VAT for the third quarter 2008 is to be paid by equal installments by the 20th of October, the 20th of November and the 20th of December 2008.
