On June 30, 2006 the State Duma in the third final reading passed a law which simplifies the registration procedure for citizens arriving in the Russian Federation from the CIS countries. A number of amendments are supposed to be introduced in RF Federal Law No. 115-FZ dated July 25, 2002 ?On Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation?, in particular, it is planned to cancel the issue of the mandatory permit for immigrant labor intake by employers engaging foreign citizens from CIS countries and arriving in the Russian Federation in visa-free regime.
