As of 29th of June 2015 amendments to the process of making corrections to the work permits (patents) came into force.

In the case that foreign national has his/her name or passport changed such foreign national has to apply for correction of his/her work permit (patent) to the immigration authorities within seven working days.

The new requirement is applicable to standard work permits, HQS work permits and patents.

Prior to these changes law didn?t contain any exact timeframe to make such corrections.

Breach of the established timeframe is considered to be an administrative violation which leads to a fine on the foreign national in the amount of 4-5 thousand rubles (approximately 75-95 USD)
