Fines for breach of immigration rules have been increased.

29.10.2004 - State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted the Federal Law #126-FZ, dated 25.10.2004, amending the Administrative Code of Russian Federation.

According to the new Law

The breach by foreign citizens of the rules of residence and entering the Russian Federation, as well as absence of necessary documents results to a fine in the amount from 1000 rubles (~ 35USD) to 1500 rubles (50USD) with the administrative deportation or without it.

Maximum amount of fine for breach by foreign citizens of the rules of stay in the Russian Federation is from 1000 rubles (~ 35USD) to 5000 rubles (~ 175USD). Failure to register foreign citizens by the inviting party results to a fine in the amount from 500 rubles (~ 18USD) to 2000 rubles (~ 70USD).

The fine for conducting labor activity in the Russian Federation by foreign citizens without work permits is from 1000 rubles (~ 35USD) to 2500 rubles (~ 88USD) with administrative deportation or without it. Besides the fine may be imposed on a customer of services, which breaches the rules of attracting foreign employees in the Russian Federation.

The Federal Law comes into force in 30 days after its official publication.
